# End of route

The end-of-route process is an essential step for operations based on route sales and on-board inventory sales.

When performing the end-of-route process, we're assuming that the [inventory allocation](https://help.gohandy.us/en-us/article/load-inventory-per-user-kmpb8f/) process has already been completed.

However, there are times when the seller has not completely sold all of their merchandise.

At Handy, there are three options for handling these products.

* ❌ Shrinkage: Product that is no longer in a condition to be sold (expired, damaged).
* 🏠 Warehouse: The product will be returned to be assigned at another time or to another seller.
* 🚚 Load: The seller will keep the stock in their truck to continue selling.

This is a visual example of how different products will appear at closure. We will look at each scenario *(no sales appear in the example).*

1. Lay's Potato Chips: The user had 1 in their truck, but for some reason, it was damaged. (Shrinkage)
2. Dove Body Wash: The user lost one piece during the day; only 7 are returned to their warehouse (the amount in red is a total loss).
3. Clorox Disinfecting Wipes: All 9 pieces are returned to your warehouse with no missing items.
4. DiGiorno Frozen Pizza: This product remains in the truck to continue selling.
5. Chobani Greek Yogurt: Same as the last product.

Once you have received the product and sent it to the appropriate destination, proceed to close the route.
